Rajan is a part of the National Development Team and provides shared pipeline services to regional fundraising teams. As a part of the national development team, Rajan manages all of the development team’s systems and operations including our CRM system, Salesforce. She oversees LIFT’s gift processing and acknowledgement processes and serves as a liaison between the Finance & Operations and development teams. Outside of this, Rajan works closely with the Los Angeles and New York markets on all of their fundraising opportunities. She supports the regions’ executive directors on a variety of tasks including identifying and qualifying prospects, thought partnering on strategies to cultivate and solicit potential investors, and supporting with securing and collecting investments. Outside of this, Rajan collaborates with other departments on special projects like the annual and spring appeals and other content production projects.
Rajan LIFTs because she personally understands the challenges low-income families face. Having immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia, her family has gone through a similar journey LIFT’s members are currently going through and as such she understands how everyone needs someone in their corner.
Rajan graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and International Relations. At Northwestern, Rajan was involved in Northwestern’s chapter of the Quest Scholars Network, which advocates for the needs of low-income and first-generation students on campus. While in school, she was an intern at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, a Fellow at GlobeMed’s Global Headquarters, and was a founding president of the Northwester Bio/ChemEXCEL Leadership Council.
