As the Development Operations Associate, Rajan works with the Chicago, DC, Los Angeles, New York, and National office development teams to research possible partners and develop a cultivation and stewardship strategy. She also manages our donor operations online system (Salesforce) to ensure data quality and integrity. In addition, she leads LIFT’s gift processing and acknowledgment process for our regional and national offices. Lastly, as the development operations associate, Rajan supports the team on special projects which include major donor cultivation and fundraising events, annual and spring time fundraising appeals, and other content production projects.
Rajan LIFTs because she personally understands the challenges low-income families face. Having immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia, her family has gone through a similar journey LIFT’s members are currently going through and as such she understands how everyone needs someone in their corner.
Prior to her role as a Development Operations Associate, Rajan was a Shriver Development Fellow, AmeriCorps*VISTA at LIFT. In this role, she built the capacity of the national development team by supporting with operations and grant/report writing tasks. Rajan graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. At Northwestern, Rajan was involved in Northwestern’s chapter of the Quest Scholars Network, which advocates for the needs of low-income and first-generation students on campus. While in school, she was an intern at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, a Fellow at GlobeMed’s Global Headquarters, and was a founding president of the Northwester Bio/ChemEXCEL Leadership Council
