At the LIFT-Los Angeles office, Laura supports the Director of Development with all things related to fundraising and cultivation events, major gifts, and foundation and corporate giving. She also collaborates with other members of the LIFT-Los Angeles team to create original content for social media outlets.
Laura LIFTs because she believes that everyone deserves to be safe, secure and loved throughout their lives. She believes that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and it’s up to all of us to fight for this right on behalf of those who don’t receive it.
Laura began her career as an Occupational Therapist in Melbourne, Australia. She primarily worked with people with chronic mental illnesses by providing crisis support, psycho-education and running therapeutic group programs. Laura got her first taste of fundraising following her move to Los Angeles, where she worked at California State University, Northridge, supporting the development team at the Valley Performing Arts Center. She is excited to combine her new found love for fundraising with her background as an Occupational Therapist in social services.
Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia in 2010. She moved to Los Angeles in 2013 in search of new adventures. When away from the office, you can find Laura on the netball court (google it!), watching a Packers game or playing with the latest litter of foster kittens.
