Pinky LIFTs because everyone deserves an equal opportunity for success. Pinky is a first-generation American and her family relied on the generosity of their new community to get adjusted and settled. Having a strong support network is vital in sustaining one’s self-efficacy and well-being.
Before coming to LIFT, Pinky was the CFO at AppleTree Institute, an educational non-profit providing pre-K education to underserved areas of Washington DC. She spent 9 years at the American Gastroenterological Association as the Senior Director of Finance. While overseeing the finance and accounting operations of this 15,000+ member organization, she launched their enterprise risk management system and re-tailored investment strategies, re-engineered financial systems and processes. Her most fun job was as controller of an NBA team. Pinky also ran a successful consulting practice that primarily focused on non-profits in the area. Working with a number of different clients exposed her to their unique challenges and allowed her to gain insight into best practices that she has been able to take and apply in other settings.
Pinky graduated from the University of Maryland and is a CPA and CFE. She is a rare native Washingtonian and volunteers teaching financial literacy to elementary school kids. Despite her huge sweet tooth, she likes to keep fit with her favorite activities of golfing, cardio kickboxing and teaching yoga.
