We are thrilled to announce that Cindy Menz-Erb has been appointed as LIFT’s first Executive Director of its New York region. Cindy will lead LIFT’s efforts to grow to scale, providing strategic, development, and programmatic leadership for LIFT-New York’s regional operations.

Most recently, Cindy was the New York Executive Director of CFY (formerly Computers for Youth), a national nonprofit organization that helps students, teachers, and parents use digital learning to improve educational outcomes. At CFY, she oversaw the region’s fundraising, strategic planning and program delivery.

Throughout her career, Cindy has been a passionate advocate for justice issues with a deep commitment to leveraging high-impact volunteers to combat poverty. Prior to her time at CFY, Cindy worked at the Center for Student Missions, an organization that provides short-term service learning opportunities in cities across the US. While there, Cindy directed the organization’s work in Chicago and launched its successful expansion into New York City. Cindy has also worked as an organizer for the Lifelong AIDS Alliance in Seattle and the AIDS Walk in New York.  Cindy holds a BA in Communications from Messiah College, an MA in Community Development from North Park University and is an alumna of the NY Coro Leadership program.

A long-time Brooklyn resident, Cindy lives with her husband and newborn. She joins LIFT full-time in July. Please join us in welcoming Cindy and wishing her much success in her new role.
