LIFT-Boston recently launched its newest branch inside the Vine Street Community Center in Roxbury.  The local anti-poverty service center will offer social services free of charge with no eligibility requirements to families in the Roxbury and Dorchester area.

LIFT-Boston will recruit and train college students from neighboring Northeastern University, and these advocates will work one-on-one with clients to find jobs, secure safe and stable housing, access public benefits and tax credits, and obtain referrals to crucial services like healthcare, food and clothing assistance, and education and training programs.

The LIFT-Boston Roxbury Office is located at located at 339 Dudley Street in Roxbury, in the ground level of the Vine Street Community Center.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the Roxbury Office at (617) 427-1155 or email boston@liftcommunities.org.

LIFT would like to thank a number of patrons for their generous in-kind contributions to the new Boston service site in Roxbury:

The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless donated leather couches.

VisibleGains donated three cubicles for Site Coordinator work space (and VisibleGains also donated free video editing and publishing software to the entire LIFT network to promote our services and stories).

Invensys, a process automation and control solutions company in Foxboro, kindly donated file cabinets, chairs, a bookshelf and table. Color Circle Art Publishing, located on Tremont Street, donated a number of beautiful Paul Goodnight prints which were beautifully framed by in-kind donor, Frame Center of Norwood.  These colorful prints now brighten our client service area and conference room.
