Pollan will begin her two-year term with LIFT-DC as a Site Coordinator on July 26, supported by a generous grant from AmeriCorps*National Direct. She will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the DC office and managing the corps of college student volunteers providing services to low-income individuals and families. Pollan will help ensure that LIFT clients receive quality services for employment, housing, public benefits, and referrals, and work with a network of District agencies to build a better safety net for those clients.
Pollan, a native of Wellesley, MA, has been volunteering at LIFT-Somerville since Fall 2006. During her time at LIFT, Pollan has held various positions including Office Infrastructure Manager, Local Director, Client Service Manager, and NSAB member. As a Local Director, Pollan was responsible for planning and conducting trainings for volunteers. As a Client Service Manager, she worked to improve LIFT’s housing services.
“We are so happy to have Lisa on board with us. She has already accomplished so much with LIFT and we look forward to the energy and expertise she will provide,” said Raël Nelson James, Executive Director for LIFT-DC.
