Ron remembers, “I needed access to computers to find and apply for jobs. I had the job, but wanted a better one." Volunteers helped him refresh his resume and worked with him to find new job leads. It didn’t take long for LIFT’s help to yield results, and Ron was soon hired as a satellite dish installation technician. “I had access to technology, applied for a job right away and got a response in three days. And now I have a career,” he says.
Ron appreciates how LIFT volunteers worked with him, saying, ""For me, LIFT was convenient in terms of location and had polite, courteous and professional volunteers." He is currently working with volunteers for help with his daughters' financial aid applications for college and is looking forward to continuing to work with LIFT-Philadelphia, and he spreads the word about LIFT's work throughout his neighborhood, because "LIFT is changing the face of the community by providing information and new opportunities to people.”
