Students from six schools associated with the University of Pennsylvania’s Community Schools Program created artistic representations of the theme “What Community Means to Me.” The artwork from each school will be displayed at National Student Partnerships, a local community resource and referral center.
“We’ve partnered with Penn’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships to hold an art competition for public school students at six area schools,” said Josh Romalis, regional program manager for NSP. The theme was “What Community Means to Me” and winning entries from each school will be exhibited at NSP’s West Philly office. Student artists will present their artwork at a gallery opening in their honor, and invitees included parents, teachers, local community leaders, and partners.
The event was held on Friday, April 17 from 3:30 - 5 p.m.
