LIFT - The Bronx is conducting the workshop to respond to high unemployment rates across New York City and to assist Bronx community members who are struggling to find work. The workshop aims to improve participants’ chances of securing employment by providing access to a computer and providing coaching on the fundamentals of résumé writing. Workshop participants will learn to properly format a résumé and to use professional language necessary to present themselves as good job candidates. Participants will also practice general computer use and receive tips for performing an online job search.
“We're very excited to work with the Heiskell Enterprise Center to provide our clients and other community members with the opportunity to create their own résumés, as well as the skills to do it independently after the workshop,” said LIFT-The Bronx Site Coordinator Katie Eddins.
For Bronx residents unable to attend the workshop, or those who would like to continue their job search independently, the Heiskell Enterprise Center Computer Lab is open from 9am to 1pm, Monday through Friday.
