LIFT Names Weir Lytle as Executive Director for Boston Region

LIFT recently named Maicharia Weir Lytle the Regional Executive Director for its Boston-area offices. Weir Lytle will oversee the operations and growth of the two LIFT local sites in Cambridge and Somerville and will lead LIFT’s external relations with local community, university and investment partners.

LIFT-The Bronx hosted its 3rd annual Client Appreciation Event on November 22 to recognize and honor the hugely important role clients play in making the LIFT-The Bronx office a productive, responsive, and fun environment. Guests, including volunteers, staff, clients, alumni, family, friends, and supporters, heard from clients and volunteers about their appreciation for LIFT. Clients were also able to pick up food baskets for the Thanksgiving holiday

Robin Hood, New York City’s premiere foundation dedicated to combating poverty in the city, has brought LIFT into its portfolio of grant recipients.
LIFT will receive a one-year, $100,000 grant as part of Robin Hood’s “Jobs and Economic Security” focus area to fund its program and operation in New York. LIFT-The Bronx will serve as a Single Stop center to provide free confidential benefits and financial counseling to neighborhood residents.

LIFT-Boston is working to protect at-risk individuals and families from being left out in the cold this winter. As temperatures drop, many Boston residents are unaware of the resources available to provide fuel assistance and utility shutoff protection throughout the colder months.
LIFT-Boston offices in Cambridge and Somerville are available to work with local residents to access fuel assistance resources, such as the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), programs that offer fuel delivery to families in need, and utility discounts for persons already receiving public benefits.
