New Partnership with Boston College’s 4Boston Program

LIFT is welcoming new volunteers in the fall from Boston College’s 4Boston program. As part of the program, Boston College students commit to serving four hours a week for an entire school year at one social service, health or education placement. The goal is to provide students with an enriching urban service experience, and to provide consistent assistance to Boston agencies that work on behalf of the city’s poor and marginalized.

UMass Boston Students Conduct Study on LIFT-Boston Services

LIFT-Boston collaborated on a research project with PhD students from UMass Boston to better understand the impact of LIFT’s services on the well-being of clients. The process began last fall when board member, Luciano Ramos, Director of Community Partnerships at UMass Boston, initiated the collaboration with seven students from the McCormack Graduate School. The group conducted surveys, interviews, focus groups and direct observations with clients from both the Roxbury and Somerville offices, and completed the report in June.
