A February Thank-You from LIFT

LIFT wants to give a huge thank you to our network for their hard work and tireless efforts to rally around LIFT in two online competitions throughout the month of February.  With Facebook and Twitter feeds buzzing with encouragement, volunteers recruiting entire campuses to vote, and alumni and partners reaching out to have their companies vote for LIFT and Kirsten, we were completely overwhelmed by the amount of support we received and so grateful for it.

LIFT did not win the Pepsi Refresh Project, but we did stay very strong in a very tough competition, ending 5th on the leaderboard! It was an amazing coming-together of the LIFT network and we're so appreciative of the support of our network.

We also want to give a shout out to the fantastic efforts of the Refresh Service Coalition that we were fortunate to be a part of.  We are so excited to see the number of victories across the coalition in the $50,000 and $25,000 categories. We also want to extend congratulations to LIFT National Board Member Rob Carmona and STRIVE-New Haven's powerhouse rally in the final days of the competition to take second overall in the $25,000 category.

On a personal note, LIFT and Kirsten would like to thank everyone for their incredible support for her nomination for The DVF Awards "People's Voice" Award.  Though Kirsten did not win the voting competition, she held the second highest number of votes and Diane von Furstenberg was so impressed by LIFT's work on behalf of working families that she is awarding LIFT a $10,000 grant from her family foundation.

We look forward to bringing you more news from our centers in the coming weeks and months and thank you again for all that you do for LIFT.
