Day 28- Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who supported LIFT's work throughout the month of February by voting in the Pepsi Refresh Project.  We ran an incredibly strong campaign and finished 5th on the leaderboard. The outpouring of support for LIFT's idea to pull thousands of families out of poverty was touching and inspiring and we are so excited to have engaged so many volunteers, alumni, partners, friends, and new faces.

Thank you to the members of the Refresh Service Coalition for helping us stay on top of the leaderboard throughout the competition.  It was a fantastic team effort and we are thrilled to see so many wins across the coalition in the $50,000 and $25,000 categories.

We sincerely appreciate your support of LIFT and we look forward to bringing you more news from our offices in the coming months!

Day 26

BREAKING NEWS! In the final three days of the Pepsi Refresh Project, Pepsi announced that it will be giving away THREE $250,000 prizes. Read the article.

LIFT is in serious contention in 5th on the leaderboard and needs to close the gap by two spots. WE NEED YOUR VOTES at http://www.refresheverything.com/LIFT. Once you have voted, WE NEED YOUR FRIENDS' VOTES. This is a team effort, and the more people we get to vote for LIFT, the closer we are to winning $250,000 to help thousands of families in poverty.

Post to Facebook, change your profile picture to "I Voted for LIFT," retweet on Twitter, email your classmates and colleagues: every little bit counts!  The final hours of this competition will be incredibly important. The projects that keep the momentum going through the weekend will win.

Today is the big day! LIFT is currently ranked 7th, which is a great start! We're ramping up our network's engagement and getting out the vote. We ask you to spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, and reach out to at least 10 friends to ensure they vote once a day, every day, until February 28. Vote for LIFT to win $250,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project!

LIFT has entered the Pepsi Refresh Project to win $250,000 for its idea to pull thousands of families out of poverty in the next year with the help of LIFT volunteers.

The yearlong project campaign would train volunteers to provide the highest quality assistance possible, while also expanding community outreach to connect more families to LIFT’s services.

Beginning February 1, people can visit www.refresheverything.com/LIFT to vote for LIFT and up to 10 of their favorite ideas for positive community impact every day until the end of the month. LIFT is encouraging its network to spread the word to family, friends, and colleagues to vote for LIFT’s project idea, and using social media to remind supporters to vote.

Throughout 2010, the Pepsi Refresh Project is accepting 1,000 ideas each month for the general public to vote on. The ideas with the most votes in each grant level will receive grants (10 awardees each at $5,000, $25,000, $50,000 levels, and two awardees at $250,000).

As part of the competition, LIFT is teaming up with a coalition of several other organizations to promote service-based initiatives aimed at improving communities. In addition to voting for LIFT at the $250,000 level, we're asking you to support the ideas of these great organizations!
