Partnerships & Alliances
LIFT is proud to be a part of several cross-sector collaborations focused on the issues of poverty and opportunity in the United States. Get to know our partners below:
America Forward is a national non-partisan policy initiative, spearheaded by the nonprofit social innovation organization and venture philanthropy fund New Profit Inc. They unite national policymakers with innovators to advance a public policy agenda that champions innovative and effective solutions to America’s most pressing social problems. Launched in 2007, America Forward helped inspire the creation of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation, among other successful policy initiatives.
Ascend at the Aspen Institute is a hub for breakthrough ideas and collaborations that move children and their parents toward educational success and economic security. Ascend takes a two-generation approach to our work – focusing on children and their parents together – and brings a gender and racial equity lens to their analysis. LIFT is honored that our co-founder & CEO, Kirsten Lodal, has been named a 2015 Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow.
Feedback Labs is a consortium of like-minded organizations committed to making governments, NGOs, and donors more responsive to the needs of their constituents. They put citizens front-and-center and aim to make inclusion, trust, and empowerment standards across the field. They bridge communication gaps between everyday people and institutions to meet the pressing needs of communities.
The Next System Project is an initiative aimed at thinking boldly about what is required to deal with the systemic challenges the United States faces now and in coming decades. By building on innovative thinking and practical experience with new economic institutions and approaches being developed in communities across the country and around the world, the goal is to put the central idea of system change, and that there can be a “next system,” on the map.
Opportunity Nation is a national campaign comprised of more than 300 businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits and civic organizations working together to expand economic mobility and close the opportunity gap in America. Opportunity Nation’s mission is to restore the promise of the American Dream by ensuring that all Americans – regardless of where they were born – have the opportunity to thrive.

ServiceNation is a sweeping, multi-year campaign that seeks to make a year of service commonplace amongst young Americans. Today, ServiceNation is a coalition of over 500 organizations and 140,000 individual members with field operations in six states working together to expand opportunities for Americans to serve. LIFT is proud to be an inaugural partner of ServiceNation’s initiative to popularize the importance of a year of service.
Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is a federal agency that helps more than 5 million Americans improve the lives of their fellow citizens through service. They invest in thousands of nonprofit and faith-based groups that are making a difference across the country, including AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, the Social Innovation Fund, the Volunteer Generation Fund, and more. LIFT is grateful that CNCS has generously devoted time and money toward expanding our team of AmeriCorps members.
