Specific responsibilities include:
- Create, write, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports for funding
- Research prospective institutional, individual, and public sector funders in the Philadelphia region whose priorities align closely with LIFT-Philadelphia’s mission
- Coordinate budgetary and program information for grants and assemble all supporting materials requested
- Liaise with LIFT’s National Development team to develop and maintain up-to-date materials for local fundraising efforts
- Maintain accurate and complete donor records via LIFT’s donor database and work to ensure superior donor stewardship
- Support coordination and implementation of LIFT-Philadelphia’s annual appeal and special events
- Engage in other development-related duties and tasks as assigned by LIFT-Philadelphia’s Executive Director
Requirements:
- Clear commitment to LIFT’s mission and core values
- Previous fundraising experience and proven grant writing skills
- Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources efficiently and effectively
- Ability to thrive in the start-up environment of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization
- Proficiency in MS Office and donor database software. Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
- Experience conducting in-depth research through the internet and a variety of other sources
Compensation and start date:
This is a 20-hour per week part-time position, and compensation is hourly at $20/hour. The target start for this position is late August or early September, 2010.
