LIFT-Boston Welcomes New Site Coordinators

Wednesday, July 21 2010

LIFT-Boston is proud to announce the hiring of Alyssa Motai, Rilwan Ajayi, and Brittni Reilly as its newest Site Coordinators.  Motai will serve with LIFT-Somerville, and Ajayi and Reilly will serve with LIFT-Cambridge.

The three will begin their two-year term with LIFT-Boston as Site Coordinators on July 26, supported by a generous grant from AmeriCorps*National Direct.  They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Somerville and Cambridge offices and managing the corps of college student volunteers providing services to low-income individuals and families.  They will also help ensure that LIFT clients receive quality services for employment, housing, public benefits, and referrals, and work with a network of Boston-area agencies to build a better safety net for those clients.

Motai is a graduate of the Merrimack College where she earned a B.A. in Business Administration, and she is a former City Year member who coordinated after-school programs for Haley Elementary School.  Ajayi is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned a B.A. in Economics and minored in African Studies and Business Administration.  During his undergraduate career, Ajayi was a very active and engaged student leader serving as a Resident Assistant, Peer Mentor and President of the African Student Union.  Reilly is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts where she majored in an individualized concentration “Holistic Pedagogy for Social Change” and has significant experience with community development, social justice organizing, conflict resolution, and intergroup dialogue.

“Alyssa, Rilwan, and Brittni’s experience and expertise, in a variety of areas, will be invaluable assets to our organization,” said Maicharia Weir Lytle, Executive Director for LIFT-Boston.
