Aimee's two years volunteering with LIFT reinforced her desire to continue working as a public servant. She immediately took a job as a foster care social worker after graduation from Manhattan College and began pursuing her Master's degree in Community Planning at the University of Maryland. While she finishes her program, she is interning with the Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED), a national nonprofit committed to expanding opportunity for low-income populations by gathering investors and policy makers to support innovative community ideas and practices.
Aimee says of her experience with LIFT: "LIFT encouraged me to be a more creative thinker. In my work as a foster care social worker and now as a graduate sutdent and professional, I am constantly trying to attack problems in innovative ways."
